About

Hi, allow me to introduce myself: Ellen Fraser, BFA, jeweller, artist and curator of Print Inuit. Promoting the graphic work of talented Inuit artists and helping buyers find the perfect print for their space is the simple goal of Print Inuit. I hope you enjoy your time browsing. If you purchase a print, I will carefully package it in a tube and box, and ship it out to you from Perth, Ontario.

My love of Canada led me to explore all things northern, and I became passionate about the art in particular. I have been traveling to Nunavut, an Inuit territory in Northern Canada, to teach jewellery since 1998. These northern stints have been an education in Inuit culture, have provided marvelous opportunities to hike and ski on the land, and have helped me to promote Inuit Art. In the past at Cornerstone in Kingston Ontario, and now these last ten years online at Print Inuit. If you ever have questions about a print, or want to chat about the art and culture of Nunavut, feel free to reach out!

About the mailing list: I will send occasional updates on new acquisitions and exhibitions, including the annual Cape Dorset Print Collection.

Most of the prints and drawings in the Print Inuit gallery come from Kinngait (formerly Cape Dorset), a small community in Nunavut famous for it's amazing artists, carvers and printmakers. I think it's important to note that the Kinngait Print Studio is part of an Inuit Owned Co-operative.

Thanks for visiting Print Inuit,

Ellen
